KFI ? CONTROVERSIES 2012 ? SCRIPT FOR A FEW FILMS!

It is a mountain hill of controversies in 2012. Controversies create good gathering in the ticket counters of the theatres was the wrong notion of the Kannada cinema industry people.

Controversies lead to success of the film was the opinion of the industry people then films like ‘God Father, Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi, Gowri Puthra, Olavina Ole should have been super hits. It did not happen and some more films in the queue for 2013 releases that kicked up a row are unlikely to get cash registers ringing from controversies.

·         Dhandupalya according to director Srinivasa Raju an entertainment cinema was in the plagiarism list as journalist from Mysore Srinath filed a complaint on the makers. ·         The strong tussle between Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and Kannada Film Producers Association is noticed in the wake of non Kannada films giving a major blow just for one week.

·         The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce took back defamation case for Rs.50 crores against the bribe allegation made by Kannada Film Producers Association.

·         Actor, producer, director and cultural wing leader of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party Madan Patel has sent across a letter on the status of writ petition he filed before the High Court of Karnataka against Central Board of Film Certification, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and Nityananda Swamy with regard to the release of ‘Satyananda’ Kannada cinema.

·         ‘Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi’ and ‘God Father’ used the space in television channel on the issue of first release of the two Upendra films. Munirathna Naidu very quietly hit back at K Manju.

·         The Seers from different Maths objected to some of the scenes in Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi’. The Dalit Sangarsha Samithi brought a stay order on the objections.

·         Madan Patel alleged Regional Censor Board officer had taken bribe and the heat gone up. The film ‘Satyananda’ went to revising committee for certificate.

·         Intelligent guy Aravind Kaushik showing over intelligence in ‘Tuglak’ – a confused cinema in a confused state of mind reacting to the reviews in the newspapers, internet and electronic media has stated in his face book that media persons asked for money. I did not pay. That’s why all of them have written bad reviews to my good cinema.

·         CCL - The captain of Karnataka Bulldozer team Sudeep and his team boycotted the awards ceremony at the grounds and that showed the complete unhappiness.

·         Video clips of Soorappa Babu and assistant of Puneeth Rajakumar created a big controversy. Darshan fans went up in arms. It was disgusting for Soorappa Babu.  At the crowded KFCC meeting Soorappa Babu tendered apology to Smt Meena Toogudeepa Srinivas.

·         POOJA GANDHI – Among all heroines who gathered attention in controversy is Pooja Gandhi. She got her engagement cancelled with Anand Gowda- She changed her JDS political party to KJP for ‘Dhandupalya’ incident. For sending ‘I will Kill You’ message to Dr Kiran the case has been registered. Producer of Jai Hindi filed an oral complaint on Pooja Gandhi for not attending the promotion of the film. For the media Pooja Gandhi said ‘You have not congratulated me for my engagement’.

·         Manju Maskal Matti wept at the media briefing for Nikitha Tukral not turning up to the promotion of the film.

·         At the ‘Chatrapathi’ audio event the dance competition witnessed a commotion and chaos once the best teams were announced.

·         Thara Anooradha was in the list of controversy as her statement at the 5th Biffes irked some of the directors. For erecting posters and flex at various part of Bangalore for swearing in ceremony. Karnataka Open Lays Act of 1981(Prevention of Disfigurement) – Actress Thara Anooradha and JDS national secretary Zafrulla Khan fans Association were charged for violation.

·         Kannada film producer B P Srinivas of ‘Mussanje Gelathi’ which he directed, produced and acted with his daughter Shalini as heroine was arrested by Rajasthan Police on Thursday in Turuvekere farm house near Tumkur. He was missing after a cheating case filed against him.

·         The eight FM stations in Karnataka do not follow the pattern of adjacent states and give primacy to Kannada and include local contents, local employees and local talent the staff of the FM stations would be painted black and hit in chappals stated eminent journalist, writer and director Kannada cinema Agni Sridhar who is part of the Kannada activist movement ‘Nyayakkagi Naanu’.

·         ‘Enidhu Manasali’ launched with Vijaya Raghavendra – director Srikanth walks out of the team.

·         For irresponsible statement on a recent film of a big production house by Naga Prasad – power star Puneeth Rajakumar called him as ‘Iron Leg’ of the industry.

·         Prasad of Samarth Ventures is in the mood to say good bye Kannada cinema industry.

·         Success of ‘Govindayanamaha’ has lead to tiff between producer KA Suresh and actor Komal Kumar. When the areas bought by Komal Kumar earned profits it created a rift.

·         The Karnataka state government Subsidy to Kannada films was locked in controversy after a sting operation in a satellite channel. One of the committee members Suresh Mangalore accepted for taking bribe and he has to give it others.
